Embroidery for Abu Dhabi.

Abu Dhabi dresses differently from Dubai. The brief we get from the capital is almost always more restrained — better thread, less of it, and finishing that survives close inspection.

The Abu Dhabi register

After years of Gulf commissions, a pattern is clear. Dubai briefs tend to ask for presence. Abu Dhabi briefs ask for quality that does not announce itself: a narrow band of exceptional goldwork on a plain abaya, a placket worked in tonal thread rather than contrast, finishing that reads as expensive without reading as loud.

That is harder to execute, not easier. When there is less embroidery on a garment, every stitch in it is visible. There is nowhere for a weak line to hide.

What we make for Abu Dhabi clients

Private clients, boutiques and designers across the emirate.

  • Abaya — cuff, hem, front opening and shoulder work, restrained or full
  • Jalabiya and kaftan — placket and panel goldwork for occasions and Eid
  • Thobe and kandura — fine collar and placket work where precision is everything
  • Traditional Khaleeji goldwork — the classic dense Gulf grammar
  • Contemporary arabesque — open, flowing, modern negative space
  • Tambour and aari hook work — fine chain stitch, fast and endlessly detailed
  • Wedding and majlis occasion wear, plus boutique production runs

Ordering from Abu Dhabi

We are a Mumbai studio, not a UAE shop. That is the whole reason the pricing works — you commission directly from the atelier with no local retail markup in between.

  • Send your design, reference photo or garment image on WhatsApp
  • We advise on technique and quote the same working day
  • Courier the garment or fabric to Mumbai, or we source base fabric here
  • We stitch a sample on your actual fabric and photograph it for approval
  • Nothing scales to a full piece or run until you sign that sample off
  • Finished work is inspected front and back, wrapped and couriered to Abu Dhabi

Shipping, duty and timing

Courier to Abu Dhabi typically runs three to six working days each way. The variable is customs clearance rather than the flight, so build in a buffer beyond the courier estimate — you will rarely need it, and the once you do, you will be glad it was there.

Import duty is the receiver’s responsibility and varies by declared value and category. We declare shipments accurately and give you the figures in advance. For Ramadan and Eid, commission in November or December rather than January; the final weeks before Eid congest every courier route in the region.

Answers

Embroidery for Abu Dhabi questions.

Do you have a shop in Abu Dhabi?

No. We are a Mumbai atelier working with Abu Dhabi clients by courier, which is exactly why the pricing is what it is. You commission directly from the people doing the work.

How long does delivery to Abu Dhabi take?

Typically three to six working days each way by courier. The embroidery time itself depends on the design and is agreed up front in the quotation.

Can you work on an abaya I already own?

Yes, and it is common. Courier the garment to Mumbai and we will advise on whether the fabric will carry the design you want before starting.

Will I see the work before it ships?

Yes. We stitch a sample on your actual base fabric and photograph it in natural light, and send progress photographs on larger commissions. Where colour matters we post physical swatches first.

Do you work with Abu Dhabi boutiques?

Yes. White-label production against a locked master sample, size-graded runs and per-piece packing. We work under NDA as standard and never display client commissions.
