What three decades actually changes

Not the stitches. Those have barely moved in a century. What changes is judgement — knowing what will work before you commit a customer’s fabric to it.

We can read a fabricGeorgette, organza, tissue and net all punish a heavy hand differently. Three decades means we know which technique a fabric will carry and which will pucker it, before the first stitch rather than after.

We quote what it really costsAn honest quotation early is worth more than a cheap one that changes later. We price from the design, the ground fabric and the real hours — and we say so when a brief is not worth what it would cost.

We hold a sampleThe usual failure in bulk embroidery is drift: piece forty does not match piece one. We lock an approved master sample and keep it on the table for the whole run, so nothing quietly changes.

We keep work privateDesigners and boutiques send us unreleased collections. Nothing a client commissions is displayed, posted or shown to another customer. That is why this website shows technique instead of finished commissions.

How we are set up

A working studio, not a shopfront

MKS Embroidery has run from Dahisar East since 1992. It is a working room — frames, thread, machines and people — rather than a showroom, and everything we take on is made here rather than passed to a third party. That matters when a deadline moves or a design needs a change halfway through: there is no chain of subcontractors to negotiate with.

Most of Mumbai reaches us one of two ways. Customers in Dahisar, Borivali, Kandivali and Mira Road usually come in with the garment, because seeing the fabric together settles most questions in ten minutes. Everyone else — Bandra, Andheri, Thane, South Mumbai, and clients across India and the Gulf — sends garments by courier and approves the work from photographs and physical swatches. Both routes get the same studio and the same hands.

We take single pieces and we take bulk. A student’s final-collection panel and a boutique’s forty-piece festive run are both normal weeks here, and neither gets treated as the small job.
