MKS Embroidery

Custom embroidery for Saudi Arabia.

Saudi Arabia has its own embroidery grammar — the bold geometry of Najdi and Sadu patterning sits apart from the flowing Khaleeji goldwork of the lower Gulf. We work both, and we do not treat them as the same thing.

Where our Saudi clients are

We work with private clients, boutiques and designers across the Kingdom, entirely by courier from our Mumbai studio.

  • Riyadh — our largest Saudi client base, mostly occasion and wedding commissions
  • Jeddah — boutiques and designers, plus Red Sea coast occasion wear
  • Dammam and Khobar — Eastern Province private clients
  • Mecca and Medina — occasion and family commissions
  • Anywhere else in the Kingdom — the courier reaches it, so we serve it

Najdi geometry or Khaleeji goldwork

These are genuinely different crafts and mixing them without understanding produces a garment that looks confused rather than rich.

Najdi and Sadu-influenced work is bold and architectural — interlocking geometry, strong angular symmetry, often in gold against deep red or black. It is the register that reads as distinctly Saudi.

Khaleeji goldwork is the denser, flowing panel tradition shared across the Gulf — plackets, scalloped necklines, deliberate formality.

A common and very effective brief is traditional geometry on the statement piece and something lighter and more contemporary on everyday garments.

What we make

Both women’s and men’s garments, single pieces or production runs.

  • Abaya — cuff, hem, front panel and shoulder work
  • Thobe and jalabiya — neckline, placket and cuff embroidery
  • Kaftan and occasion wear — full panel goldwork
  • Wedding commissions — including family sets worked as one group
  • Children’s pieces — re-set to their own proportions, never simply scaled down
  • Boutique runs — white-label, size-graded, matched to a locked master sample

How ordering from the Kingdom works

There is no showroom to visit, so the process is built to remove the guesswork rather than ask you to trust it.

  • Send a design, reference image or garment photo on WhatsApp — English throughout
  • We advise on technique and send a quotation the same working day
  • Courier the garment or fabric to Mumbai, or we source base fabric here
  • We stitch a sample on your real fabric and photograph it in natural light
  • Physical thread and fabric swatches posted where colour matters
  • Nothing scales until you approve; finished work is inspected, wrapped and shipped

Shipping, customs and Ramadan timing

Courier to Riyadh, Jeddah and Dammam typically runs four to seven working days each way. Saudi customs clearance can be slower than the UAE, so plan with a wider buffer, particularly in the weeks before Eid.

Import duty and any clearance charges are the receiver’s responsibility and vary by declared value and category. We declare accurately and provide the paperwork you need in advance. For Ramadan and Eid commissions, start the conversation in October and confirm the design by November — January is usually too late for anything with a sample round.

Answers

Embroidery for Saudi Arabia questions.

Do you ship to Saudi Arabia?

Yes, regularly. Courier runs four to seven working days each way to Riyadh, Jeddah and Dammam, and we reach anywhere else in the Kingdom the courier serves.

Can you do traditional Najdi or Sadu-style patterns?

Yes. Send a photograph of the pattern or a reference and we will stitch a sample on your fabric for approval before committing the full garment.

Do you embroider thobes for men?

Yes. Neckline, placket and cuff work, usually fine and restrained. Precision matters more than ornament on a thobe and we work accordingly.

Who handles customs and duty?

Import duty and clearance charges into Saudi Arabia are the receiver’s responsibility and vary by value and category. We declare accurately and send the documentation you need in advance.

Is there a minimum order?

No. A single abaya is normal work here, as is a forty-piece boutique run. Both get the same studio and the same sample approval process.

What language do you work in?

English, throughout. Quotations, approvals and progress updates are all in English, by WhatsApp or email.
